How can I set up Cox email on my iPhone ?

Auto Configuration set up method:

i). Tap settings on your iPhone

ii).Choose the mail row

iii).Then choose add account

iv).Then choose others

v).After that choose add mail account

vi). In the New Account page, enter your name, your first name and your last name. Your complete address is your Cox address field, the pass word for your account and put the description in the description field. You description could be changed later.

vii). Copy the whole username portion of your email address, you will need them later.

viii). As soon as you have entered this information click on save, this will save your information and will take few seconds to verify your credentials with Cox.

ix). Once you account has been authenticated, click on POP

x). In the incoming mail server section, entre:

·         Enter the host name, select the pop server that your Cox address uses depending upon your location

·         Whatever you see for pop server enter that into the host name

·         In the user name section enter your e mail address but remember it should be without @cox.net. As you had copied the user name earlier you can paste it there

·         In the password section you can enter the password

xi). When you move down on the page you will come across an outgoing mail server section:

·         Refer back to the Cox webpage for the value of SMTP Server and then enter that value into the host name, for the outgoing mail server settings. This is little different from what you entered above in the incoming mail server section.

·         In the user name enter the same name as you did earlier. It will be your e mail address without @cox.net

·         In the password block enter the same password you did earlier

·         Once you are done tap save

xii). The setting you entered in the host name should be different depending on the location.

xiii). Your account should be set up properly at this point of time. Exit setting and try to access your account from the iPhone mail application. If you come across any issues, you should verify the following settings:

·         If you have trouble sending the mail, then go back to settings, then mail and then tap into your account. Then tap the SMTP section

xiv). Verify these on the SMTP page. The authentication setting should be set to password. When you set up the account, it automatically chooses the settings and did not enter or modify the default setting.

xv). From the same account tap advanced

xvi). On the advanced page ensure that we have authentication set up to the pass word. All these settings were entered automatically and you need not to enter or modify any of these default account.
